As Power BI projects grow to support more teams and business processes, the dataset(s) supporting the reports and dashboards for these projects will also grow. For example, integrating the general ledger into the existing AdWorks Enterprise dataset would require new fact and dimension tables, new relationships, and additional measures with their own unique business rules or definitions. Additionally, it's common for hundreds of DAX measures to be built into datasets over time to support more advanced analytics and address new requirements.
