Server specification
First of all, let's be clear by what we mean when we say server specification. We mean the machine (virtual or physical) that is hosting the website that you are attempting to test. The effect of the server specification can have varying effects on the site you are testing that in large part, is dependent upon the design of the site. If your site depends upon a lot of server-side processing, it could slow down significantly when under load. If you have a high number of concurrent users, the server may have problems servicing the requests, and the responses coming back to the client may take longer than expected.
