It’s entirely possible to whip up a meal without flavor, just as it’s possible to know how to use a computer without understanding files. For Word, the document is a file. It’s stored on the computer for later retrieval. Specifically, it’s stored in a format (call it a “flavor”) that Word can easily digest.
