No upper limit exists for a Word document’s size, not a maximum page count or word count or any other text measurement. I don’t know whether anyone is crazy enough to test this claim. The longest single document I ever created was over 240 pages long. Word seemed to deal with it well, but the document was just text — no graphics or fancy formatting. Though you may never write a document this long, you may someday desire to write a book or some other long manuscript. When you do, you’ll find several ways to deal with all that text in Word, none of which are obvious.
