When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Shape Map visual
Similar to the Filled Map, the Shape Map visual uses shading/saturation to show the geographic data. One thing that does make the Shape Map unique is that it allows users to upload their own maps to be illustrated. In order to accomplish this, you must have a JSON file which contains all the necessary information required by Power BI. By default, the visual does offer some standard maps but currently does not have an option to show the entire world. Let's take a look at the Shape Map visual.
Let's look at setting up the visual:
- Select the Shape Map visual and move it to take up a quarter of the report page.
- This map does not allow for multiple fields to be placed in the Location section, so we cannot use the Region Drilldown ...
