About the Authors

In recognition of her expertise and dedication to the Access community, Teresa has been awarded Microsoft Access MVP (Most Valuable Professional) every year, since her first award in 2006. Like several of the authors, Teresa is one of the founding moderators on the new MSDN database design forum at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/sqlserver. Teresa continues to serve as president of both the Pacific Northwest Access Developer Groups (PNWADG) and of the Seattle Access Group (www.SeattleAccess.org) and publishes two monthly Access newsletters. Teresa is the lead author for Access Programmer's Reference (Wrox) and co-author of RibbonX: Programming the Office 2007 Ribbon (Wiley). The best part of being the lead author is being able to offer colleagues the opportunity to become published authors; for many it is truly "a dream come true."
Teresa's zeal for helping others has lead her to some amazing adventures—mostly to raise funds for various charities. On July 9, 2004, she triumphantly made it to the summit of Mt. Rainier. And nine days later, while on a pro-bono project to deliver an Access database to a teen clinic in Uganda, she was shooting Class 5 rapids on the Nile. Her next challenge event was in 2006, when she biked 220 miles in 2 days; raising money for Spinal Cord Society, in honor of her brother, Kirk. (And she still doesn't own or ride ...
