Log shipping is a low-cost, straightforward, and resilient solution you can use to achieve high availability and/or to offload reporting. It is used to automatically synchronize two databases at a chosen time interval. It accomplishes this by backing up, copying, and restoring transaction logs on a scheduled basis.
