When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Why Learn Yet Another Language?
It seems that all too often someone comes up with a new and improved tool to solve the crisis of the day, when in fact it's the same crisis everyone has been dealing with for years and a plethora of existing tools to choose from already exists. The current crisis of the day is developing a software application that is network aware, database connected, web service–enabled, and any other advanced feature that clients, customers, and management alike need for the next generation of software applications.
So, why create a new language? After all, there are so many languages out there to choose from; surely one of them would suffice to do the job. We have Visual Basic for high-level abstraction and C++ for expressiveness ...
