Building a Web Site
When you run your project, there is no guarantee that it will start, especially if you have errors (bugs) in your code. The Visual Web Developer editor does a lot to help eliminate errors with Microsoft IntelliSense and error checking as you type. As you develop your personal portal, you will see more of this. However, this is not the only way to make sure your project will run successfully. You can build your project without running it. (In fact, before you run your project, it is built; if no errors are found, your project is launched.)
You can build your project before you run it to check all your work by using the Build menu. You can build a single page, build the entire Web site, or rebuild the entire Web site.
