Measures are the values that you are going to

analyze; they are united in the measure groups by

their relationships to dimensions in the cube.

Measures are ultimately the most important seman-

tic part of the cube because they are based on the

fact data (sometimes called facts) that you’re going

to analyze.

Measures define which data is available for analysis,

and in what form and by what rules that data can
