Yes, I’m talking to you. You did it. You made it to the fifth principle. Congrats on making it this far. To commemorate your achievement, I hope you’ll join with me in singing “Chuck E’s Happy Dance” song. Frankly, Chuck E. Cheese creeps me out, but as the father of five kids, I’ve spent more time in Chuck E. Cheese establishments than I am proud to admit.
Anyway, there’s a line in the song where Chuck E. says, “And give yourself a high-five.” That’s right, you deserve it, damn it. Go ahead and give yourself a high-five. As you’ll find out in Part II: Mechanics, celebrating is a critical component of the Microwins System. For some reason, the older we get, the more we think that celebrations can only take place for earth-shattering occasions. Well, get ready to channel your inner little person, because in order for us to sustain momentum and keep chipping away at our big goals, we’re going to be celebrating a lot on this journey.
Where We’ve Been
In Principle 1: Embrace You Coffin, we tapped into our mortality. In Principle 2: Time Is Made, Not Found, we identified the importance of guarding our minutes. Our third principle, Wage War Against Your Status Quo, was a call to arms, and in Principle 4: Wiretap Your Mental Chatter, we listened in on the conversations that dominate our mental playlist.
