2D coordinate system A 2D coordinate system is used to specify locations in 2D space.
3D Cartesian coordinate system With a 3D Cartesian coordinate system each location in a 3D space is specified by an ordered set of three distances from the system’s origin (an x-coordinate, a y-coordinate, and a z-coordinate). The coordinates are represented as (x, y, z). The three axes of a 3D Cartesian coordinate system are orthogonal.
