In the previous chapter, we installed the Oracle database software on our testbed server. In this chapter, we will create our first Oracle database and have a fully functional system where we can practice and learn Oracle.

The Oracle Universal Installer does have an option where you can install and create a database in unison. In this book, we will perform the actions separately, install the software then create the database.
