The Structure and Elements of Pervasive Computing Systems
There are many perspectives on pervasive computing. The key components, from our point of view, could be a platform that integrates the basic elements of a context-aware pervasive computing systems—from sensors and modeling to reasoning techniques. In this chapter, we discuss the structure of a pervasive computing system that we have developed. As illustrated in Figure 2.1, we divide our discussion into three layers: the infrastructure layer, the middleware layer, and the application layer.
