13.1. Introduction
The productive formation can be evaluated during drilling, before completing the well, after the well has been completed, and after the well has been worked over or stimulated. This chapter provides a brief overview of ways to quantify parameters essential to well performance evaluation and well completion or workover design. While much of this book is focused on using various parameters to model well performance or design well treatments, the objective of this chapter is to learn how those parameters can be determined in the first place.
