Call history
Phone or FaceTime calls placed, missed, and received by the user are logged in the call history along with other metadata, such as call duration, date/time, and more. The call history database is a WirelessDomain file, and it can be found at /private/var/mobile/Library/CallHistoryDB/CallHistory.storedata. The CallHistory.storedata file was introduced with iOS 8 and is currently in use at the time of writing (iOS 11). Keep in mind that most devices can be updated and will most likely have data in both locations, which means that you need to be aware of how the data is stored in each location and whether or not your tool is extracting data from each database. For this reason, we will examine both in this section.
