Data Preparation
When you start with any data science or data mining project, one of the stages that can take up a significant amount of time involves the preparation of the data. Data preparation can include many steps that involve merging and transforming the data in the formats that are required by the data mining algorithms. In addition to performing these data preparation steps you may want to work with a portion of the data, use data that is summarized to a certain level, use various filters, sample the data based on certain criteria, or transform attribute values into other values that are a bit more meaningful.
