Fundamentals
In the previous chapter, we became acquainted with the concept of tmux and what this program could offer us in the way of resolving some standard terminal emulator annoyances. In this chapter, we’re going to start using tmux and investigate some of its different constructs and terminology, such as the following:
- Sessions
- Buffers
- Panes
- Windows
By the end of this chapter, you’ll know enough about tmux to be a confident user and start integrating it into your workflow. There will still be much more to learn (and after this chapter, we’ll start to investigate tmux’s other features), but for now, consider what you learn here ...
