So, here you find me, dear reader, tired, weary, and yet oh so excited all at the same time. For here sits an author who is on the verge of his first published book. I’ve written many a technical article in my 15-plus years as a programmer, and there came a point when I found myself writing more and more on a particular topic, of which this book you’re holding is based.

The start of this journey was nothing more than a short set of notes that I had cobbled together for what was to become my fourth article on the subject of Vim.
