Forgetting Where Probabilities Live
Probabilities have strict rules, and you always need to check when you are finished with a problem to make sure those rules are being followed. The two biggest rules of probability are:
- Each probability lies between 0 and 1.
- The sum of all the probabilities of all the outcomes in the sample space, S, must be 1.
