OVERVIEW OF INTEROPERABILITY
Many Access developers have become experts in working with Access for specific purposes but have little or no experience with using Access to automate other programs. However, as work processes become more integrated, many developers are seeing more and more opportunities to expand their business and better serve their clients by using Access to leverage the functionality in other programs. Fortunately, one of the main features making Access and the entire Office Suite so popular is the increased integration between applications within the Suite itself — not just to share data, but to literally open and manipulate the program with all of the features and benefits of working directly with its user interface.
