The idea at the base of RPC is to provide a mechanism to transfer control from a program (client) to another (server), similar to what happens with the invocation of a subroutine in a centralized program. The advantages of this approach are that it has very simple semantics and knowledge and familiarity of the centralized mechanism of a function call.
