It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

「強化学習」は、いろいろ試行錯誤させ
て、よい結果が出たときに「報酬」を与え
て強化していく学習方法です。よりよい方
法を見つけるための方法で、ロボットの制
御や、将棋や囲碁などで使われています。
例えば将棋の
AIなどは何億回も対局してよ
りよい手を学習していくので、人間よりも
強くなったりするわけですね。

これから作る「手書きの数字を認識するアプリ」は、特徴を見て「それが何なのか」を
答えるものなので、「教師あり学習」で作ります。
大量の「数字の画像」と「それが何の数字か」のペアを与えて、「数字の特徴」を学習さ
せるのです。
