I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
We're going to need an image handy to use as the mask when the app is not foregrounded. I chose to use an iPhone wallpaper, which you can find at:

The image is a sort of stylized mosaic pattern. It looks like this:
You can of course use whatever image you'd like. In this recipe, the image file will be named hidden.jpg, so rename your image accordingly.
We'll need a new pure React Native app. Let's call it HiddenContentApp.
