Chapter 10

Real-Time UML

General Resource Modeling

Abstract

A real-time UML (RT-UML) profile provides a unified framework for modeling and analyzing real-time systems. RT-UML profile offers a common vocabulary to the real-time software community, allowing human users and automatic tools to exchange, interpret, and perform quantitative analysis on models annotated by the profile. RT-UML profile is partitioned into a number of packages, including the General Resource Modeling (GRM) package and the Analysis Models package. The GRM package defines stereotypes and rules for resource modeling, concurrency modeling, and time modeling, while the Analysis Models package defines stereotypes and rules for performance and schedulability analysis.
