Chapter 3. Real-Time Intelligence in Microsoft Fabric

As you saw in Chapter 1, Microsoft Fabric integrates data integration, engineering, warehousing, real-time analytics, and business intelligence into a single lake-centric SaaS offering.

Real-Time Intelligence within Microsoft Fabric is a set of capabilities that integrates ingestion, analysis, and visualization of streaming data, using a combination of no-code/low-code and pro-code alternatives. These capabilities serve various business scenarios by providing unified near-real-time analytics, direct data ingestion, and scalability of processing. Integrated support for KQL, automated indexing, and partitioning greatly enhance data handling in Fabric, which also has automation triggered by the arcs that enable immediate responses to critical events while ensuring built-in security for high-level data protection. This allows no-code/low-code experiences to enable users with varying levels of technical expertise to adopt real-time analytics, which in turn enables agility and well-informed decision making across teams, regardless of their technical expertise.

In this chapter, you will learn how the Real-Time Intelligence service in Fabric can help you ingest and process, analyze and transform, and act upon data to drive actionable insights and decisions.
