I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Connecting to BigQuery
In order to set up a BigQuery Data Source in Redash, you need to create or already have a Google service account with permissions to access BigQuery. If you are creating a new service account, in the new private key generation, make sure that you select the JSON key file type, as it is required in the Data Source setup in Redash.
BigQuery uses Identity and Access Management (IAM) to manage access to resources. If you create a custom role, grant the role the following list of permissions:
- bigquery.jobs.create
- bigquery.jobs.get
- bigquery.jobs.update
- bigquery.datasets.list
- bigquery.datasets.get
- bigquery.tables.list
- bigquery.tables.get
- bigquery.tables.getData
