It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 3. Radio Transmission Fundamentals for WLANs
In this chapter, Michael Finneran takes a closer look at the major technical specifications often associated with an RF front end. Although his perspective is focused on WLANs, it is still relevant to any discussion on an RF front end. He distinguishes between transmission capacity and bandwidth, and explains how to determine the limits of transmission by using Shannon’s law. Also in this chapter, Finneran reviews the global regulatory bodies for spectrum use, and he introduces some possible impediments to good wireless performance.—Janine Sullivan Love
