So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Since the publication of volume 1 of ASTD's In Action series entitled Measuring Return-on-Investment, the interest in measuring the return-on-investment (ROI) in training and performance improvement has grown exponentially. Volume 1 filled an important void in the training literature. Published in 1994, it remains one of ASTD's all-time bestsellers. Volume 2, published in 1997, demonstrated further progress with measuring ROI for a variety of programs. Volume 3, published in 2001, added more examples of ROI application to the literature. In 2002, the first casebook representing ROI applications exclusive to the public sector was published.
