Mac OS X includes a number of utilities and applications that enable you to start working as soon as your Mac is up and running. This software includes a versatile PDF and image file viewer called Preview, a basic text editing program called TextEdit, an Address Book for managing contacts, and an application to manage your passwords. As these applications use similar controls to other Apple software, we recommend giving each a try as a way to familiarize yourself with the Mac OS X desktop.
