Appendix D. Performance Test Methodology
This appendix lists how and under what conditions the metrics from “Measuring Performance” on page 91 were obtained. The systems are detailed. The software is specified, and the data sampling techniques are documented. This information is presented for those interested in performing their own performance testing.
Bandwidth Performance
Two Netra™ ct 400 servers were used to run the tests. Each server had a single UltraSPARC™ IIi 440-MHz processor, 1024 Mbytes of memory, and a Seagate ST336704LSUN36G disk drive. The Solaris 9 12/02 OE for the SPARC platform was installed with the 64-bit SUNWCall cluster. The two servers were connected to a network switch using hme0.
