So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
04 PREPPING THE MACHINE
For your machine to make stitches, you need to insert a needle, attach a presser foot, and thread your machine.
INSERTING THE NEEDLE
1. Turn off the power before inserting or releasing a needle.
2. Turn the hand wheel until the needle is at its highest point.
3. Loosen the needle clamp screw to release the current needle.
4. Place your chosen needle into the needle holder (flat side to the back), and tighten the needle clamp screw to hold it in place.
WINDING/INSERTING THE BOBBIN
1. Remove the bobbin cover plate and the empty bobbin spool. Place the thread spool you plan to wind onto the bobbin on the horizontal spool pin, and secure it with a spool cap. Place the empty bobbin on the bobbin winding pin.
