So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
07 TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
Keep your machine clean for optimal use. The cleaning process removes dust, lint, and thread or fabric fragments from the machinery. Always disconnect the power before cleaning to prevent accidents!
1. Remove the bobbin cover and bobbin, and brush away any lingering thread or fabric remnants that have built up. With too much lint, the bobbin will not spin smoothly, causing uneven stitching or thread breakage.
2. Remove the needle, presser foot, and presser foot holder. Unscrew and remove the needle plate, followed by the bobbin holder. You now have access to the feed dogs and hook race. Clean the various parts of the machine with a brush or a cloth to remove dust, grime, and remnants of fabric and ...
