Chapter 11. Counting the cost (and the profit)

Possibly we should title this chapter ‘The Responsible Independent Consultant’, because whether we like it or not, we have to ensure that we pay our taxes and the rest. This has always been an area of doing business that I have preferred to leave to others who are a lot more qualified than me. I work on the basis that they are going to do it not only better but probably a lot cheaper at the end of the day than me trying – and getting wrong – some do-it-yourself approach.
