Chapter 3Transmission

We are now ready to transmit the waveform through the system. We’ve already met the sources and receivers, so we can proceed to make the connections. Our goal is straightforward: move the waveform from sender to receiver as fast and faithfully as possible. Our challenge is to minimize unsolicited modification of the waveform: added noise, frequency response changes, distortion, dropouts, excess latency and alien invaders.
