Speaker coverage has a shape. The audience area has a shape. Sound design is about laying the speaker shapes over the audience. This chapter begins the search for the best speaker shape to fill the room. We start simple, with a single speaker, and set the stage for the next chapter, where we will expand into speaker arrays.
