In today’s world, even personal computer owners are aware of the importance of backups. For better or worse, most users have a system to back up their data—on an external disk, in the cloud, or in a hybrid solution. It’s an essential part of data protection—in case of a data loss, a recent backup can restore most of the data.
Databases are subject to the same risks and also require backups. Plus, it’s a sound plan for a quick recovery, as production databases usually have low tolerance for downtime.
