Execution starts by focusing on cash. Notionally, since cash is the most important factor, all else exists to help us model and understand cash. When I speak to people in finance functions, I am amazed at how difficult two concepts they seem to struggle with are; understanding how much money they’re making and spending, and modeling and projecting cash.
