About the Author

U. C. Jindal is a former Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Delhi College of Engineering. He completed his M. Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and did his Ph.D. on Experimental Stress Analysis from the University of Delhi. For the last 47 years, Dr Jindal has been involved in teaching, research and development activities in the mechanics group of subjects such as engineering mechanics, strength of materials, machine design, theory of machines and materials science.
