Introduction
In this chapter we discuss the supply chain strategic planning process, whose purpose is to provide clear direction for the organization’s supply chain activities over the next two to five years. As mentioned in Chapter 1, the supply chain strategic planning process must be in consonance with the overall business strategic planning process, and so it must be supportive of market share and profitability goals, along with business and product mix targets.
