It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Caching
References to immutable objects can be cached as they are not going to change; therefore, the same immutable object will be retrieved quickly the next time we try to access it. An example technique is memoization, which we explained in Chapter 2, Functions and Closures.
