8.2    Declaring Structs

This is the initial hands-on coding section for structs. We’ll start by declaring structs and create instances for them, demonstrating how to set and read their properties. Once we’re through with those fundamental skills, we can move forward to the more advanced features they offer.

8.2.1    Basic Struct Declaration

Because we started with an example centered on books, let’s continue with that for the first hands-on code samples too. Listing 8.1 contains a basic declaration example of a struct.
