15.2 Working with Frameworks

In this section, you’ll learn how to prepare and consume frameworks. We will go through step-by-step instructions to create a custom framework, then import this framework into an app project to make use of its contents.

15.2.1 Setting Up a New Framework

To create a new framework, you first need a new framework project. In Xcode, follow menu path File • New • Project. In the template window, select Framework, as shown in Figure 15.7, and click Next. Note that the top section contains the platforms you can target; we will focus on macOS for this demonstration. You can play around with different platforms later.
