Performance of IMS Networks
The performance of the IMS network is important to understand to apply it in effective network operation and network planning. Measurement data from the network elements, which is collected for the engineered traffic and QoS, gives an insight into how well the system is performing relative to the desired goals. These performance measurements are specified in 3GPP TS 32.409, which define the counters and data for the various procedures and events at the network elements. These are summarized in Table A.1. Most measurement counters provide qualified data about the conditions that apply, such as successful and failure conditions.
