Compose and send a message

To compose a new message, tap the New Message icon, enter the recipient(s), subject, and message text, and tap Send.

That's pretty self-explanatory, but I do want to call your attention to a few interesting things about composing messages:

  • Manual addressing: You can type (or paste) a recipient's email address in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields. Or

  • Address autocompletion: If you start tapping out a sequence of letters that matches any first or last name or email address in your Contacts app, Mail displays a list of matches. Tap a name to use it as the recipient, continue entering letters to narrow the field further, or simply ...
