Your browser may frequently do things you don’t expect and subsequently drive you crazy. Sometimes this happens because the browser has a bug or otherwise isn’t working properly. Other times, the browser is working as it was meant to—but in a way that makes you want to tear your hair out.

Browser developers seek to improve your browsing experience and add new features, just as any app developer will do (although exceptions exist, particularly with Chrome because of the Google connection, as I point out at various places throughout this book).
