When you create a new movie or scene,

Flash starts with a single layer and a

Timeline. You can add layers to the

Timeline or delete layers you no longer

need. Additional layers do not affect the

file size, so you can add and delete as

many layers as your project requires.

Layers are a great way to stay organized. You can put

buttons and navigation on one layer, background art

on another, and use individual layers for animation and

dynamic content.

1 Click the layer in the Timeline

the new layer.

2 Click Insert.

3 Click Timeline.
