You can create symbols in Flash
to make reusable graphics and
animations. Flash has three main
types of symbols: graphics,
movie clips, and buttons.
Graphic Symbols
Graphic objects, which are the simplest symbols
in Flash, are most commonly used as reusable
graphical assets or are used for Timeline animation
like tweens.
Movie Clips
Movie clip symbols are the foundation of Flash. In
essence, they are their own Flash movies that can exist
within your main Flash movie. Movie clips are also the
base symbol type that can have an instance name,
which allows ActionScript to reference your objects.
