HOW TO ENGAGE THE BRUTE

Daniel had just hopped onto the treadmill at the gym for his daily 40-minute routine. Listening to CNN on his earphones, he reacted with surprise to an angry-looking man who tapped him hard on the shoulder and aggressively said, “When are you getting off this machine?” Daniel, who could make out only part of the question, removed his earphones and asked the man to repeat what he’d said. He did so with even more emotion. Daniel answered, “I just got on.” The man retorted, “I need to know when you are getting off so I can plan my workout schedule!”
