Attorney General for India is the highest law officer in the country. |

He is the legal advisor of the Government of India. |

He is also a primary lawyer of the Government of India in the Supreme Court of India. |

He is not a member of the Central Cabinet. |
|
|
To look after legal matters at the government level there is a separate Law Minister in the Central Cabinet. |
